A car accident ramming into pedestrians on Essex Street, in the Islington district of London, England has left at least four people injured. As people were on the sidewalk outside the Old Queens Head pub, a vehicle plowed into them on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 10:55 p.m. London time, as reported by BNO News at 7:33 p.m. ET.

Witnesses told authorities that after the car accident, the occupants of the vehicle were seen getting out and fleeing from the scene. In answer to emergency calls, police and The London Ambulance Service arrived at the site to attend to the injured. At this time, reports are stating that four people were hurt, but comments have not been made as to the severity of injuries.

One of the witnesses pronounced that the accident scene was "absolute chaos," with one other stating that people hurt were "seriously injured but conscious," according to the Daily Star Sunday.

Subsequently, the authorities caught and arrested one male from the suspected car. The others who fled the scene are still being sought. Officials are requesting for more witnesses to come forward to give statements about the car accident. As a result of the incident, roads in the area continue to be closed to allow for the ongoing investigation.

With this car accident happening just a few days after the car plowed into pedestrians outside of Parliament, immediately it was feared that it was another attack of terrorism. Scotland Yard verified the accounts of the Islington car accident and specifically stated, "While enquiries into the circumstances continue, this is not being treated as terrorist related."
