Car audio technician sues former employers for unpaid wages, overtime pay.

HOUSTON — A former technician at a car audio and security systems store is suing his former employers, alleging he's owed unpaid wages and overtime pay.

William Pearson filed a complaint Feb. 16, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against three Frequency Car Audio locations, as well as the plaintiff's employers, Ajit Singh Khalsa and Sarbjit Singh, claiming his past employers violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed at Frequency Car Audio between May 2014 and January 2016. Pearson alleges he received a salary of $1,000 per week but that pay was deducted for absences. He allegedly also worked frequent overtime hours for which he wasn't paid. The plaintiff holds defendants responsible for allegedly refusing to pay the agreed-upon wages.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for unpaid wages and recoverable costs and fees. He is represented by Kerry V. O'Brien of O'Brien Law Firm in Austin.
