A crash that sheared a car in half, right down its middle, in California on Saturday somehow ended with no fatalities.
Footage shows the Chevrolet Impala on Highway 101, 80 miles northwest of San Francisco torn in two, with its rear end lying around 12 feet away and the driver, dazed, sitting at the wheel.
Tom Bond, who recorded the extraordinary footage, told the Press Democrat[4] it was 'the craziest thing I've ever seen, and I've seen many accidents.'

This driver miraculously escaped the near-total destruction of her car on Saturday after it was sheared diagonally in half during a head-on collision on a California highway
The accident occurred when the Impala struck a Toyota Sequoia near Geysers Road at around 8am.
The footage shot by Bond, a 70-year-old former US Army ambulance driver, shows the Sequioa's front end crumple.
Its driver, Kevin Fenty, 27, of Huntington Beach, is sprawled on the asphalt, being given first aid.
But the damage to the Impala is even more shocking: Both rear wheels have been torn off as the car was sheared diagonally up its middle.
All of the seats in the car are destroyed - save for the driver's seat.
In that seat is Apol Lansang, 26, of Sonoma, who is seen talking to witnesses who have pulled up to assist the injured parties.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Lansang's Impala was struck by Fenty's Sequoia after his car drifted across the lane and into her path.
Both drivers were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where Lansang was treated for minor injuries and Fenty for moderate ones.
'The scene was, it was pretty intense,' said Sgt Jason Bahlman. 'It was definitely one of the most severely damaged cars I've ever seen.'
The crash is still under investigation but drugs are believed to have been a factor.
Fenty was arrested at the scene and has been charged with felony DWI with drugs causing great bodily injury, misdemeanor possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuana and misdemeanor driver unlicensed [to drive] upon the highway.
He was jailed on $30,000 bail.
